About the Author

Van Essler is a dark fiction author who explores cross genre writing.  Her life currently is pleasantly chaotic with writing endeavors and family; a husband and two inquisitive daughters. The whole wooden picket fence that ought to be painted white but holds more character as it is. She prefers smaller groups of people discussing intellectual or artistic topics over a crowded environment. A history lesson on hazardous fashion from bygone eras over television.

Van Essler began writing as child with short works accompanied by crudely drawn pictures (best to leave illustrations to the artists). Her zeal for reading is insatiable and it did not take long before she was known as the quiet girl who spent her breaks in the school library. As life progressed, writing and reading have developed further as her passions.

She received the Founder’s Award for her fiction piece, “The Photograph” and has several publications under her belt. Recently receiving a Bachelors in Creative Writing, she is furthering her education with a Master of Fine Art in the field currently in progress at Seton Hill. Fiction novels are the focus for the near future, but shorts and non-fiction pieces are bound to spring forth as well.

      Happy reading.
